INDEPENDENCE DAY

Our Indonesian Independence Day celebrations was quite an elaborate one for our school this year. We kicked off the celebrations with our Indonesian Independence Day with a Flag Raising Ceremony on Monday, 20th August 2018.
The ceremony, which was held in our Multi-Purpose Hall was attended by all Elementary – High School students, teachers and staff. Our Middle & High School student leaders led the simple yet elegant ceremony as flag-bearers and student leaders. On Friday, 24th August 2018, a sense of national pride continued to fill the air as the school turned into a sea of red & white, in honour of our national colours, when we held our Indonesian Independence Day Games.
It was a fun-filled day for all our ECY – HS students as they battled against each other in their favourite traditional games like Krupuk -Eating Contest, Gobak Sodor , Bakiak and Tarik Tambang (Tug-of-War). It was such a joy to see our students cheering one another on & giving their best effort to emerge victorious at the games!
To culminate our Indonesian Independence Day celebrations, we brought the theme of K e r j a K i t a Prestasi Bangsa to our school halls with our Independence Day Class Tribute Competition. Students were required to work in class teams and produce an original and creative piece of display or exhibit to reflect the diversity of Indonesia, and to reflect their love, respect and honour of their country.
We were very impressed with all the creative exhibits that were put up. The judges had a hard time making their decisions as all the entries were simply breath-taking! Exhibits were assessed based on the following criteria: • Collective work • Originality • Creativity • Appreciation to Indonesia
Here are the winning entries from each division:
ECY1
EL6
MS9
HS11B
The winners from ECY & EL and MS & HS will be presented with a stationery token and stationery voucher respectively at the next School Assembly. Congratulations, BINUSIANS! Kerja Kita, Prestasi Bangsa! ?
