Chinese New Year Celebrations

BINUS SCHOOL Bekasi welcomes the Year of the Rat! Gong Xi Fa Cai! To usher in the New Year of the Metal Rat, the School prepared a variety of activities for our students, which included in-class activities and cultural lessons during timetabled lessons.

The highlight of the festivities of course took place at the culmination assembly on Friday, 24th February 2020 where our School turned into a sea of red and gold to usher in the New Year.
At our culmination assembly, our ECY – HS students and parents included were entertained by the student performances e.g. choir, dance and skit. The assembly’s finale was a grand affair as the lion dance troupe started to beat their enchanting drums, much to the delight of all our audience. The lion dance performance which was full of stunts and surprise which had our
students in excitement, throughout the show.

Our students also had the chance to get up close & personal with our lion dance troupe during their class meet and greet and photo-taking session in the morning. At the meet & greet, students were eager to give out their red packets (angpaos) which is a symbol of good luck and prosperity for the year ahead.

Our students were also treated to a Chinese New Year goodie bag, courtesy of our PSG and parents! Thank you very much for your kind generosity, Parents! Here’s wishing every BINUSIAN a Gong Xi Fa Cai!
