#RAISEAPLANT CAMPAIGN

In keeping with the inspiration and nature of the club, Bye Bye Plastic Bags – BINUS SCHOOL Bekasi (BBPBBSB) is spearheading a campaign to encourage members of the school community to raise a plant in the safety of their homes/yards. The campaign is hinged on UN’s Sustainable Development Goal #13 i.e. Climate Action.

The campaign which will run from October 2020 to March 2021 aims not only to increase awareness of the need to take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts but also to empower the members of the community with the confidence that every act, no matter how small, adds up to the common and global effort.

This campaign is also being conducted by other BBPB Chapters in other parts of the world. Members of the school community, employees, parents, and students are encouraged to grow a plant or to tend to their plants at home to increase nature’s capacity to filter polluted air and help create fresher and better quality air for all.

Those who interested to take part in this campaign are encouraged to periodically post a photo of their plant(s) on Instagram and inserting #RaiseAPlant_BBPBBSB. It is hoped that the attention created on social media will encourage even more people, including the external community to participate and contribute their actions.
