BIM is part of the Beasiswa Pendidikan Indonesia (BPI) program by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology. This scholarship targets outstanding students and graduates of high and vocational schools, as well as equivalent.

Focusing on promoting Indonesia, the BIM Scholarship is a full-right scholarship that will grant the recipient education funds, transportation, visa financing, etc.

Student Achievement: The Journey of Four BINUS SCHOOL Bekasi’s Students to Get BIM Scholarship

The BIM Scholarship Batch 4 of 2024 is a Non-Gelar (Non-Degree) program, namely the Program Persiapan S1 Luar Negeri, carried out by Puspresnas (Pusat Prestasi Nasional). Any student can apply for this scholarship starting from Grade 11.

All four recipients of BIM Scholarship Batch 4 – Arya, Kayla, Winner, and Kezia – are also students of Upper Secondary, Grade 12 in BINUS SCHOOL Bekasi.

Their journey began with a somewhat lengthy, practically complicated registration and curation process. They had to prepare several requirements to apply, such as good grades on their student report cards (academic) and other excellent non-academic achievements

Ideally, these accomplishments should be both national and international in scope. Four of them, in particular, spent hours collecting their non-academic achievements, such as certificates or listing other sources of past competitions.

Also, as part of the application requirements, they had to prepare more, such as an essay of personal statement, curriculum vitae, letter of agreement from school and parents, and other supporting documents. After that, they had to submit or upload them to the curation (Kurasi) website by Puspresnas.

In addition to essay writing, an interview was another crucial part that required considerable practice. The interview is the chance for them to make a good and appealing impression on the reviewers

Once accepted, they underwent a fully packed BIM schedule, including webinars, IELTS, and ETC classes. Even more, on weekends, they had the so-called social project, namely creating projects to give back to the community.
