BINUS SCHOOL Bekasi: A Place Where Young Researchers Thrive

Embracing its vision as a School of Research, BINUS SCHOOL Bekasi believes that curiosity and the courage to experiment must be nurtured from an early age. To support this vision, we are committed to creating a learning ecosystem that empowers students to explore their interests through meaningful, relevant, and impactful research.

This vision comes to life through the achievements of our students. One shining example is Bryan from Grade 12, who carried out a research project on solar-powered energy. His study led to a real-world collaboration with our Building Management team to install solar-powered streetlights on campus, followed by solar charging stations, directly contributing to a greener school environment.

We are also proud of Arya and Winner, who won a bronze medal at the Indonesian Student Research Olympiad (OPSI) in 2023, organised by the Ministry of Education’s Puspresnas and BRIN. Their project, titled SADARI: Self Diagnose for High-Risk Investments, explored motivational safety perspectives in crypto investment. Their success was supported by strong guidance from their research mentor, Ms Nur Chasanah.

Additionally, one of our Grade 11 students received an Honourable Mention in the 2024 Youth Design Challenge for her project, Antrodam, a flood protection system inspired by the behaviour of Indian Harvester Ants.

By instilling a research culture early on, we believe our students are equipped to think critically, solve problems creatively, and communicate their ideas effectively. They are learning to observe the world not just with their eyes, but with both heart and logic, always asking “why,” and boldly questioning “what if.”
