BINUS SCHOOL Bekasi Teachers Showcased Research-based Education Competence at Beijing Competition

Being a teacher in the 21st Century is about innovating, continuous learning, and exchanging ideas. BINUS SCHOOL Bekasi is proud of our exceptional teachers, Mr. Hendra and M. Syakti, for their achievements at the recent international teaching competition in Beijing. They demonstrated BINUS SCHOOL Bekasi’s commitment as a School of Research through their innovative teaching strategies.

Showcasing Teaching Strategy for the 21st Century

Mr. Hendra and Mr. Syakti, who teach Business Studies and Physics respectively, represented BINUS SCHOOL Bekasi at the Teaching Competition 3.0 in Beijing, with the theme “Teaching in the 21st Century.” Organised by NetDragon and UNESCO IITE, the competition showcased innovative teaching methods and created networks of international teachers.

The competition featured five unique categories for the year 2025: Online Collaboration Projects, Flipped Classroom Interpretation, Inclusive Technology Practices, Gamification in Education, and Innovative Use of Social Media for Learning. We are proud to announce that Mr. Hendra and Mr. Syakti won two categories, bringing BINUS SCHOOL Bekasi’s name to international recognition in futuristic teaching strategy.

Mr. Hendra won the Gamification in Education category for his innovative use of board games. As a Business Studies teacher, Mr. Hendra created a gamification system using board games to encourage creativity and strategic thinking, both important traits for studying business.

Mr. Syakti, the Physics teacher, used an ingenious method to win the Flipped Classroom Implementation category. His project used smartphones and traditional musical instruments to teach students about sound waves. They demonstrated the true spirit of BINUS SCHOOL Bekasi: incorporating local wisdom and modern technology in education.

Their victories earned them a study trip that lasted from 17 to 23 August. During this trip, Mr. Hendra and Mr. Syakti had a chance to attend the Global Smart Education Conference. They also visited several schools in Beijing to learn about various innovations, education practices, and teaching methods. This trip also allowed them to form a priceless network with international teachers who share the same vision.

Mr. Hendra and Mr. Syaktis’s wins demonstrated their competence as forward-thinking teachers, employing creative, innovative methods. Furthermore, they reflected BINUS SCHOOL Bekasi’s vision in becoming the School of Research.

Innovative Teaching and School of Research

Mr. Hendra and Mr. Syakti’s participation in the Teaching Competition 3.0 in Beijing represented BINUS SCHOOL Bekasi’s #SchoolOfResearch vision.

The two teachers’ victories demonstrated the use of creativity, innovation, and technology to deliver lessons effectively. Gone are the days of students sitting passively at their desks.
