PARENT SUPPORT GROUP (PSG)

At BINUS SCHOOL Bekasi, we value the support and partnership of our parent community to help bring us closer to our School Vision.

We are honoured to have received many PSG Nomination Forms from parents who had indicated their keen interest in contributing towards the mission of the School’s PSG. We thank all our parents who had taken the time to complete the PSG Nomination Form and for kindly stepping forward to our call for volunteers.

We are excited to introduce our Parent Support Group (PSG) 2018.

This year, our PSG is made up of the Executive Committee as well as the Regular Committee. We have Ibu Aldy Charismiadj as the Chairperson and Ibu Noviati Lestari as the Vice Chairperson.

To facilitate communication amongst parents in the class, we will be sharing the contact details of all the parents in the class with the appointed Class Parent listed in the table. This is to allow the creation of a WhatsApp (WA) and/or email group for all the parents in the class.

This mode of communication is for official School or PSG-related information and reminders only. All other communication e.g. feedback, concerns or input may be coursed directly to the respective Class/Form/Specialist Teachers or School Executive via email and/or appointments.

To officially welcome all our parent volunteers into their roles, we held our Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Friday, 14th September. This was followed by a Welcome Luncheon with Teachers and Staff where all members of the PSG had the opportunity to interact and mingle with our school faculty members in a more relaxed and casual atmosphere and setting.

At this juncture, I take the opportunity to introduce to all our parents, our new PSG logo.

The three (3) figures symbolize a tripartite relationship of Parents, the School and the students (children) of BS Bekasi.

The smallest figure represents the students (children) in BS Bekasi who are centrally positioned in the logo as aligned with the School Vision & School Mission.

The two (2) taller figures represent the Parents & Teachers/Staff of BS Bekasi, whose primary focus and function are to contribute to the holistic development and growth of our students. The contributions of the parents and teachers/staff form a shield of “love and care” which are encapsulated in the “heart” (shape).

The three (3) figures are presented with their upper limbs outstretched to the sky to symbolize:

• our collective spirit towards striving for excellence
• our exuberance and joy in learning and innovation,
• our kind, respectful and caring environment
• our well-being and happiness in our Home for Learning

The font in the logo is congruent with the School Crest. This is to depict alignment and continuity with the goals and aims of the School.

The colours of the logo were also carefully selected to represent the following:

Maroon

• Parents
• Blood ties of the family & home
• Most important support for students

Gold

• School
• Gift of education through teachers/staff
• Partners with parents

Green

• Students (Children)
• A young spirit
• A new School
• A growing community
