ONLINE STUDENT CONVENTION

Our MSHS Student Council Executive Committee Officers took part in the 1 st Global Digital Young Leaders Convention that was organized by Hwa Chong Institution, Singapore from 18th–22nd July 2020.

represented BINUS SCHOOL Bekasi at the digital event which was participated by students from Indonesia, Japan, Singapore, India, France, United Kingdom, and the United States of America.

Students were given the opportunity to immerse themselves in an alternate reality of a global pandemic. Using several online platforms to make the convention possible, the students chose different stakeholder roles, engaged in a fruitful discourse with their counterparts often by reconciling their conflicting interests, and collaborated to resolve the shared crises together.

As the participants were from different time zones, the convention days were long and intense.

Students explored, negotiated, and resolved the issues spawned by the pandemic in their countries. At the end of the day, the countries came together to see how their solutions impacted on other countries and how they can fine tune them in consideration of the other countries’ contexts. WELL DONE, BINUSIANS!

Awluna Ramadhya shared, “the one thing I really took from the whole event is to be quick to respond to crises. I also learned to be more creative and to try to see everything from a global perspective.”
