A Celebration of Inspiring Dedication: Teacher Appreciation Day for BINUS SCHOOL Bekasi Teachers

Another academic year has passed, and here it is again, November 25th, marking the commemoration of Teacher’s Appreciation Day in Indonesia. In 2024, the community of BINUS SCHOOL Bekasi also engaged in an annual celebration of our teachers’ and school staff’s devotion to our students’ and school’s lives. 

Although one day of celebration is insufficient to express our gratitude for their wholehearted devotion, our small celebration always left other joyful memories for both teachers and students. While walking on the runway, our teachers and staff created a stronger bond.

Reminiscence of Teachers’ Dedications

As years pass by with constant farewell and welcome, the teachers and staff at BINUS SCHOOL Bekas continue to play their role contributing to students and the school’s positive development and dynamic. 

The Teacher’s Appreciation Day is our way to ponder over their hard and sincere work and a way to renew our gratitude for their devotion. This event is annually organized through a collaboration between teachers and students, while the Student Council manages the execution for the Secondary Level as well. 

Whilst the short event was full of fun, it also provided a time to loosen up our teachers and staff from their hectic-usual-business activities. They were able to engage with students in a more amicable manner. 

Moreover, students also had time to reminisce about how our teachers and staff provided them with unwavering support and expressed their gratitude for them from the depth of their hearts.

Joyful Teacher Appreciation Day of 2024 at BINUS SCHOOL Bekasi

This latest celebration was slightly different to the past ones. On D-Day, our teachers, including the specialist and subjects teachers, for Early Years, Lower and Upper Primary, to Secondary along with staff from the Management, Support, Nurse, and Guidance departments walked cheerfully on the runway. 

Each of them wore the best smiles and styles, receiving an abundance of attention from our students. Some of our little BINUSIANS took the chance and sprinkled another level of cuteness with their initiatives of handing out hand-made thank-you cards for their favourite teachers. 

The excitement was soaring as teachers immersed and playfully took photos with the students while doing the blue carpet greeting as if they were in a fan meet. Other teachers showed their playful and creative side making various formations, throwing off hearts that symbolize their love to the students.

Along with the teachers and staff runway parade, students of each class also made a pre-recorded video to express their gratitude while openly sharing their thoughts about their teachers. But it was not the end of the show as our students continued to give their teachers butterflies through a gift-giving session. 

Those small gestures were not meant to recompense teachers’ and staff’s dedication. Rather, it was all our students’ tokens of gratitude that moved and warmed the hearts then. 

Throughout The Teacher’s Appreciation Day, our teachers’ and staff’s long dedication was treasured with smiles, laughter, and profound engagement, setting up another memorable history of our community togetherness.  

Our Gratitude Nurtures Their Wellbeing

We strongly believe that as one of the school’s pillars,  teachers and staff merit recognition in every possible way. 

The Teachers and Staff Appreciation Day is not a standalone effort to display our appreciation, gratitude, and affection toward them. This small act also plays an essential role in promoting education which also influences how society perceives the role of teachers in shaping the futures of nations. 

Above and beyond, with this event, we strive to encourage students to foster respect and gratitude for their teachers and school staff, who take various roles in guiding, mentoring, teaching, and supporting them. Hence, they won’t take for granted the academic and learning journey they are currently involved in. 

As we display our appreciation for them through this event, we hope that teachers and school staff will get more confidence in embracing and carrying out their roles with pride and humility. 

On top of that, we intended this activity to enhance teachers’ and staff’s empowerment and nurture their well-being on a general basis. 

Supporting The Wings of Our Community

The Teacher’s Appreciation Day weaves our appreciation for teachers and staff devotion. It is a gentle reminder that as the pillar of schools and the backbone of the nation, they also needs continuous support to assume their pivotal roles. 

Together with other parts of our school community, BINUS SCHOOL Bekasi will constantly and consistently foster our community empowerment with small acts and programmes and solidify a positive academic environment for everyone.
