Pekan Budaya Nusantara 2025 was a cultural event designed to nurture students’ appreciation for Indonesia’s diverse heritage. Fun and Creative Events at Pekan Budaya Nusantara
Pekan Budaya Nusantara (Nusantara cultural week) showcased students’ creativity, skills, and unity through various fun events. The Early Years, Primary, and Secondary students participated with parents, under the guidance of teachers. Every activity was designed to instill pride and love toward the nation’s heart, unity, and diversity.
The flag raising ceremony became the perfect event to open Pekan Budaya Nusantara. The school’s Paskibra (flag raising) team, dressed in neat uniforms, inspired their friends with their discipline and commitment when conducting their tasks. Students of all years joined in a ceremony to pay respect to the flag and honour the nation.
The most anticipated event is Tunjukkan Bakatmu (Show your Talents). This is where the younger and Secondary students showcased their immense artistic talents. With colourful outfits and impressive moves, they performed dances from various provinces in Indonesia. They took great pride in their performances, with amazing supports and applauses from parents, teachers, and their friends.
Not stopping at dance performances, the Primary Years students actually learnt to perform traditional dances! Two parents, who are skilled in dancing, stepped forward to give a special lesson of traditional dances for the students. They enthusiastically followed as the parents on stage perform movements that they could easily copy.
The Early Years students were not to be outdone. They participated in an adorable fashion show for traditional outfits. Displaying colorful, diverse outfits from various Indonesian provinces, the students put on an unforgettable show.
Finally, no Indonesian culture-related events are complete without the obligatory Independence Day games! Known as Lomba 17-an, these games are popular across Indonesia and bring communities together. Students participated in flag racing, cracker-eating contest, tug of war, and more.
